Thanks to P'Nut for another fun Blogthing......... This is very, very true and perfect to sum up the past year. I've moved on and I'm a happy chick!

Your 2005 Song Is
Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson "But since you've been gone I can breathe for the first time I'm so moving on" In 2005, you moved on.

Band name

Thanks to P'Nut for this one........

Your Band Name is:
The White Bread Ninjas
I kind of like the sound of that name! Rock on!

Ugh

Chocolate, I am sad to say, does not make a proper lunch, no matter how much you eat of it. You may now scrape me off the floor from my sugar crash........ (I am cutting out the sugar after the New Year, so I have to eat 20 pounds of candy between now and then. Not exactly healthly, but I'm looking at is as my "last meal" before lockdown!)

Happy Holidaze!

Ahhh, Xmas has finally passed and I can somewhat catch my breath. We went to three family gatherings in a week and survived them all. Other than one comment of "that's the only political button we'll ever agree with" after seeing my "I'm pro-cupcake and I VOTE!" button from Cupcake Royale in Seattle, it went very smoothly. Religion and politics were carefully avoided and everyone had a wonderful time. I am home alone today, as extra days off is one perk of working for an institution of higher learning. You would think that I would be being productive, cleaning up the debris from present opening and catching up on all the housework. But, NO! I have been staying in bed until 11am snuggling with the cat, checking email, playing Yahoo games and goofing off. It's now 3pm and my sweetie will be home in about four hours. I just balanced my checkbook (gawd, that was depressing!) and I am off to the mall to exchange the most awesome, kick ass boots my wonderful bf got me for Xmas for a smaller size. (Burning Man, here I come!!!) Then it's back here for clean up, laundry and making a spaghetti dinner with my yummy New Seasons chicken italian sausage. I am determined to salvage at least part of the day!

Snow Day!!!

We had another freak snow storm Sunday here in Portland. I say freak storm because whenever they say it will snow, it never does and when it does snow and ice up, like it did Sunday, the forecasters never see it coming. I was on my way to finish my Christmas shopping Sunday when it blew in, so I wasn't able to get it done. But, whoopee and hallelujuah! The college closed Monday and I got a free day off. The weather was fine by the time I got up on Monday, so I went and did my shopping then. I am all done with the purchasing. Now I just need to wrap a few more things and finish one more batch of cookies and I'm good to go. Ho ho ho! p.s. Procrastinating on shipping packages is very costly!

Inspiration

I don't write in my blog much because I rarely can think of something to say when I'm actually at a computer to type it. But while reading Dr. Oh's website, I was inspired by his page of quotes. I collect quotes constantly and keep them in notebooks, Word files, pages in my date book. I am going to post some of them, so that other people might glean some inspiration from them. So here is my first Quote of the Day/Week/Whatever..................... "A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do." – Walter Gagehot For myself, I interpret this quote two ways. First, it is satisfying proving someone wrong who says you are not capable of something. The second, and more devious interpretation, is that it's fun to do something that you're not supposed to do because it's against the "rules". What do you think?

Hi, my name is Sprite........

And I am a Blistex addict. There, I said it. I want it morning, noon and night and I get cranky when I run out or lose it. All said, if I had to have an addiction, I think this is an OK one. At least my lips are soft!

Flying angels

Reading Chicken's and Mishka's posts about holiday memories made me think of my own favorite memories. When I was a kid, my whole extended family - aunts & uncles, cousins - used to go to my grandparents' house on Christmas Eve. My grandpa had made a tree topper of three different colored angels that flew around the top of the tree. I can remember laying on the couch with my head in my mom's lap just watching those angels fly around and around. When I was older, I got to distribute all the presents (there are perks to being the youngest grandchild and the only girl!) And later in the evening, all 20 or so of us would gather around the huge dining room table and play a rowdy game of Uno. I really miss my grandparents around Christmas time. They sure made the holiday special for this little girl!

Sticky fingers

Trying to type an email while also eating a bagel covered in peanut butter is not a good idea. Now my keyboard is all sticky. Oops!
